Be aware that some productive coughs in dogs can appear like frothy vomit, or they can cough so hard it causes vomiting. The causative agents of this infection are still under investigation, with veterinary professionals and universities working diligently to unravel the mystery and establish effective treatment protocols. In the meantime, supportive care strategies provided by your veterinarian may include fluids for hydration, immune support supplements, cough medication, and potentially antibiotics more severe cases may require hospitalization and further treatment.
