Dr. Sarah Cocker

DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)

Dr. Sarah Cocker-Scott is an accomplished internal medicine veterinarian who is excited to bring her specialist skills to the team at Moonlight Veterinary Center in Encinitas. Dr. Cocker earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University in 2011. Following her graduation, she completed a small animal rotating internship at Central Texas Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Austin, Texas, and a specialty internship in internal medicine and critical care at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, Texas. In 2013, Dr. Cocker-Scott began her internal medicine residency at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego, successfully completing her training in July 2016. Her dedication and expertise were recognized in 2020 when she was accepted as a Diplomate into the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

Dr. Cocker has a deep passion for internal medicine, with particular interests in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases. Her extensive knowledge in these areas led her to contribute a chapter on hepatobiliary diseases in Ettinger’s Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine, a key reference for veterinary professionals. Additionally, she is an active member of the Comparative Gastroenterology Society, further highlighting her commitment to advancing the field of veterinary medicine.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Cocker enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband, child, and their beloved pets. Her dedication to both her family and her patients exemplifies the compassionate care she brings to her practice. Dr. Cocker-Scott is excited to join the Moonlight Vet team and looks forward to serving the Encinitas community with her specialized expertise in internal medicine.
